What is it?
Data Escrow provides backup storage for a domain name database. MSK-IX is the only ICANN-accredited Data Escrow provider in Russia.
Who is it for?
ICANN requires registries and registrars of top-level domains (gTLDs) to regularly deposit backup copies of their domain name registries with Data Escrow agents.
How does it work?
The Registry/Registrar regularly transfers the full deposit of the domain name database to MSK-IX. MSK-IX ensures its integrity, immutability, and confidentiality and transfers the deposit to the domain name registry at any time upon request of the client.
How to get the service?
Sign a contract with MSK-IX and, together with MSK-IX specialists, set up the uploading of domain database deposits to a specially organized storage.
