MSK-IX wins COMNEWS AWARDS 2014

On 27 November, a ceremony took place in Moscow for the winners of the annual COMNEWS AWARDS 2014.

Internet Exchange MSK-IX won the prize in the “Largest IX” category. The selection criterion for this category is the total maximum incoming traffic at client ports, and in this respect, MSK-IX has no rival today, and not only in Russia: It is one of the top five largest traffic exchange points in the world.

“Over 600 companies use MSK-IX traffic exchange and network acceleration services,” Yelena Voronina, MSK-IX board chairman, said. “We are happy that our efforts to develop the Internet infrastructure in Russia have been recognized by the professional Internet community.”

This is the third time COMNEWS AWARDS has been awarded to Russian IT communication and broadcasting leaders, who are determined on the basis of independent industrial ratings. The best companies are chosen not by a panel but on an objective measurable criteria: traffic, client base, penetration, and so on. This approach makes this award unique for the Russian ITC sector. COMNEWS AWARDS is known within the professional community as the “IT Oscar.”
