President of Russia Vladimir Putin has awarded certificates of honor to MSK-IX Director General Yelena Voronina and head of DNS projects at MSK-IX Pavel Khramtsov. An order to this effect has been published by the Official Internet Portal of Legal Information.
According to the order, the MSK-IX executives received the award for their “contribution to shaping and developing the Russian segment of the internet.” Representatives of a number of other Russian internet companies have also received awards. The President has repeatedly stated that developing information and communication technology and the Russian internet is among the country’s strategic priorities.
“This award praises MSK-IX for the work it has been doing for many years to develop internet technology and expand its use within the Russian society. Today’s world would be unimaginable without high-speed connectivity, always-on services and uninterrupted internet access. We are relentless in our efforts to make the internet better accessible, faster and safer in Russia,”
MSK-IX Director General Yelena Voronina said.
“Receiving a certificate of honor from the President is always a pleasure, but this award praises the work of an entire team that has been supporting the operation of the key servers within Russia’s country-code domains .RU, .РФ and .SU since their creation. These servers stood the test of the Sochi Winter Olympics, the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the presidential election,”
head of DNS projects at MSK-IX Pavel Khramtsov pointed out.
