Memorandum on Russian Internet development signed at Cyber Security Forum 2016
This memorandum is an example of the ability of the organizations responsible for uninterrupted and stable operation of the Russian Internet infrastructure to work together to deliver on this objective. The parties to this document undertook to use cutting-edge technology for developing and enhancing the reliability of the Russian domain name system.
"MSK-IX launched an initiative to develop the Russian domain name system seven years ago, which proved to be useful for our partners and clients with 500 operators currently working within this network. The solutions used in this project have stood the test of time and proved to be efficient. This memorandum runs until 2020, which gives us a new planning horizon, new objectives and opportunities," MSK-IX Director General Yelena Voronina said.
The Cyber Security Forum brought together Russian and international experts, representatives of government agencies, NGOs, forensic analysts and cybersecurity experts. The main objective of the event is to share experience and best practices in preventing cyber threats, and to develop common approaches to raising public awareness of digital security. The forum is held on Safer Internet Day, a day established in 2004 by Insafe Safer Internet Center, with 120 countries taking part in the initiative this year.
