Pavel Khramtsov awarded for his internet merits

Virtuti Interneti, the award established by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in 2010, is presented for outstanding contribution to the development of the internet industry in Russia. Pavel Khramtsov is rightfully considered a Runet pioneer. During his long career, he worked at the Kurchatov Institute of Nuclear Energy, took part in mitigating the consequences of the meltdown at the Chernobyl NPP using information systems he designed, wrote one of the first internet technology manual in Russian, and has been teaching and researching for many years.
Pavel is the main ideologist and developer of the Coordination Center’s Netoscope project and carries out systematic work to analyze the development of the domain and IP address market. His experience and expertise on DNS and network technologies are a valuable asset for MSK-IX.
Pavel Khramtsov also delivered a lecture at RIGF 2025, in which he traced the path of the internet from a professional environment to a commercial one, mentioning current security issues and challenges related to phishing and botnets generated by digital economy.
